  • AGMARK stands for agricultural produce (Grading and Marking).
  • In order to improve the marketability of freshly harvested produce the Govt. of India has made it mandatory (for Export purposes) and have set down certain quality parameters for grading the produce.
  • These quality parameters are to be found under the schedules of the rules framed under the Agriculture Produce (Grading and Marking) Act, 1937.
  • AGMARK specifies the grade designations, grade designation mark, method of marking, method of packing, quality definition etc
